Bear's Story...
My name is Bear.. (BORDER COLLIE MIX)....I have sat and waited since last Sept for someone to take me to a loving home of my own....I came in with my best friend Shadow... Our owner took us on a ride that day. I thought it was just all about taking a drive for the day...Then, he drove away, after her dropped us at the shelter, leaving us behind..We were both very confused by what happened..... I am 4, and Shadow was 11 at the time.. I will never understand at our ages why we were left, but we were.. At first I thought my owner was coming back for me.. He told the shelter manager he probably would... Then months passed and he never did.. We then realize, we were here until someone who cared enough, would take us to a new home.. Well, it hasn't happened.. 8 months later I am still waiting. Now alone...

Unfortunately, Shadow is now gone.. I guess the stress of the shelter was too hard on her, and she was becoming aggressive towards me. Even though we were friends, I guess she just couldn't take it any longer.. I can't fault her for that. A place like a shelter can do you things like that to a normally loving dog..How would you like to be caged day after day for months? Especially when two dogs like us, had always lived in a home. We didn't know what to think when we first got here at the shelter.. Sooooooo, my best friend was put down.. It was lonely at first, but, I quickly came around and was thinking my day to be adopted, would come soon.. I sat from Sept till March.. When finally someone came by to see me.. I thought all this was over when they took me home with them..I could not believe I was finally chosen...

Sadly, I was there only one month. They didn't like the fact that their dog who had lived there for so long just wouldn't accept me being there... I mean to be honest what did they expect... They didn't have me neutered and we were both males.. That would have been easy to fix....So, here I am again, sitting and waiting.. When I first came back, I was extremely sad.. I couldn't believe I was back and had such bad luck. Barking dogs all day long and being in a cage is hard, you just can't imagine how hard unless you have experienced it...Heck, I love to fetch, run and play.. Guess I was back to square one.. I have a new friend who is looking out for me. She wants me to have a home as much as I want one myself. .She tries to visit me at least once a week and let me out of the cage, give me treats. She says I am an awesome dog and so pretty in person.. I just hope this time will go by fast and I will finally get a real home of my own before it's too late.. I deserve one after all I have been through.. I really want to be a part of your family..I am only $30 and will have my neutering sponsored if you are willing to share you life with me, till the end of mine.. Please call the number below if you want to help save my life...

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Everman Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Everman, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Everman.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Everman already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Everman breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Everman paves the way for another one to be saved.
