Dino's Story...
So here I am for the past year waiting, just waiting, for someone to take a look at me and stop passing me by because I am a cute little spunky bundle of love. If you want playful you can’t ask for more than me because I can play by myself and as a matter of fact I share toys and bones well with other dogs but I haven’t been around cats so I don’t know how I would react to them. I do look like a miniature German Shepherd, don’t I???? But I’m only about six pounds.

I really look older than I am because of my coloring, but I am only about three years old, had a tough life before I came to Dusty Paws Rescue (had a severe case of demodex mange) and admit I am not outgoing when you first meet me, but I have have a dogsitter that can give a testimonial to my personality – she loves me because I make her laugh when I’m playing by myself, tossing the toys up into the air and making “quirky” eyes at her. Dusty Paws Rescue does “sleepovers” and this would be the time that you would really get to know me and my personality and oh, by the way, probably fall in love with me as does everyone in Dusty Paws Rescue.

Note! Any inquiries about this companion animal will only be answered after completion of an on-line application at www.dustypawsrescue.org You will be contacted by a Dusty Paws Rescue Representative within 24 hours after receipt of your application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dino, a Castro Valley Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
