Horton's Story...
Horton is an ever-happy, with a big-wide-grin-to-prove-it pittie. He delights in just about everything: seeing you through the kennel gate, getting rubs and pets in his kennel, walking in the fresh air and sunshine, coming across new people and other dogs in the park. On walks, Horton demonstrates good-doggie manners, consistently looking over his shoulder and responding to your lead and direction. This sweet-natured pooch is a bundle of love, as well. He will lick-lick-lick you, tail wagging, butt wiggling the whole time. Horton does better with female rather than male canines, so if you are looking for a companion for your female, consider bringing her in to meet him. Horton would be great as an only dog, too. This pittie pooch would do fine in a family with children, for he has a gentle, snuggly way about him, and has the endearing habit of leaning into your leg when you stop for a moment during a walk to wait for a light or to talk with someone. Sweet boy!

Act quickly to adopt Horton. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Horton, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
