My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*****I am the coolest dog ever!!*****

Hello world! My name is Bentley, but my foster momma calls me ‘bulldog Bentley!’
I am a super gorgeous, all white, 5 year old bully bachelor. I am looking for a home to call my own.
How did a hottie like me end up in rescue? I was surrendered by my owners of only 1 week. They got me from a ‘friend of a friend,’ and I was in bad shape. I had a cherry eye, and my tail was severely infected. It was so bad that it was green from infection. I cried anytime anyone went near it. My home of 1 week knew that they could not afford to fix me up, so they surrendered me to Love-A-Bull. Why couldn’t my original owners clean under my tail? Why did they let it get so bad? Well, all that is behind me now, and only amazing things lie ahead in my life. No turning back!
Since I have been in rescue, my cherry eye has been fixed, and my tail was completely removed. I have an adorable little nub now that still can wag! No cleaning necessary. It feels SO good!
Now, onto my amazing personality… I am a LOVER! Even though I am a big boy- around 55 lbs, I have no problem crawling right in your lap and staring at you with my big brown eyes as if to say ‘just love me!’ My foster mom melts when she looks at me! I am very starved for attention, and for that reason, I will need to be an only pet in my home. I can’t wait to have humans that will be mine. Kids 12 and up are fine by me too!
I am an active boy, so daily walks and a backyard to play in are going to be necessary. I am okay with kitties.
I would also really love to be enrolled for a Petsmart beginner training class. I want nothing more than to please you, and just wait and see how smart I am!
My eye and tail area are still healing, but my heart still hurts. Although I am happy to be in rescue where I am loved and cared for, I just want a home that is all mine. Where the humans will make a promise to me to love me forever, and never give up on me.
I am a fabulous boy, and I just know that I will make you the happiest human in the world.

Love-A-Bull has spent close to $800 on my surgeries and care. *****My adoption donation will be $450 to help cover some of those costs.
I am neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and as beautiful as a Bentley!
Thank you and big, wet bully kisses!

You MUST fill out an application if you want to be considered for my home. NO inquiries will be returned without an application on file. We DO NOT adopt outside of Arizona, and we do not adopt to homes with more than 2 dogs.

*WHY ARE SOME DOG’S ADOPTION FEES HIGHER THAN OTHERS?
The adoption donation fees are based on age, health and needed vet care of the dogs we have taken in. The younger, healthier dogs help to pay for their cousins that need a little more TLC. You adoption donation fee also covers the cost of the spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip of your new dog.
*CAN WE COME SEE YOUR DOGS?
All of our dogs are in foster homes around the Phoenix area. We require an application to be filled out, a home check to be done, and vet reference check to be complete before having you come meet the dog of your dreams! We will ONLY contact you when we have a potential match.
*I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL DOGS WHO I THINK WOULD FIT MY HOME, BUT THEY ARE NOW ADOPTED. WHY?
We take a lot of time to get to know our dogs in rescue. Some are barkers, which cannot go into condos or apartments, some require companionship of other dogs, and some are not good with children. Each dog is unique!
*IS THERE A WAITING LIST OF APPROVED APPLICANTS?
YES! That is why even if you are not ready to adopt, get your application into us if you want to be considered for a future adoption.
*I AM LOOKING FOR A PUPPY OR VERY YOUNG BULLDOG.
Well, you have come to the wrong place. Rescue dogs on average are between 3 and 7 years old, we do not get puppies into rescue. We would, however, be able to refer you to a reputable breeder.
*BULLDOGS ARE SO EXPENSIVE! WHY?
If you are looking for a cheap bulldog by choosing rescue, need not apply! Rescue dogs are dogs that are going to need ongoing vet care, and a lot of love and training from their new humans. We only adopt to homes that truly want to RESCUE a homeless bulldog. This is not the place to find a “cheaper” bulldog.
*I HAVE AN APPLICATION ON FILE, AND HAVE CALLED A FEW TIMES, WITH NO RESPONSE.
We will contact you when we believe we have a dog that is a match.
Please remember: Not only are bulldogs adorable and cute, they are also high-maintenance and expensive! ☺
