Please help us find Willy a forever home! This sweet boy has been in foster care since 2008 if you can believe that ~ and certainly at no fault of his own. Willy is deaf so he will require a home who understands that life for him is a little different than it is for other dogs who can hear. All he needs is patience, and for someone to give him a REAL chance so that he can win you over with his kisses and loyalty for life.
A few words from Willy (was Adam):
I am a very sweet boy who if given a chance would be very loyal. I am working on my hand signals and know the basics for sure. I would love to show you how well behaved I am, and how well I do with a lot of obstacles. For the most part I am quite, but I can be loud if need be. I do like to play and I can get very vocal and strong during this time. All I needs is a chance and maybe a few friends that would help me adjust to a new home. I am also very protective and fast at times so small children are not recommended to be around me.
A few words from my foster mom:
Where do I start? Adam came to me with both names but Adam does not suite him so I have kept Willy. Willy has been with me for four years now. He is a very sweet and loving boy inside the house. He is fully house trained. I have never had any troubles with him. He will paw at you or pace back and forth until you move then make a run to the door where he will defiantly let you know he wants out. he is hearing impaired so in saying this he is best suited in a home with no small children. He knows the basic commands in sign: sit, down, and lay down, good boy and bad boy. He enjoys company and can be found all curled up with another dog and even sometimes a cat. He also loves sleeping with my husband. He goes under the covers and makes his own spot. Once there he usually stays for the night, but if he has to get your attention he will dig at your body and if he does not get your attention he will go at your face so caution is needed
Willy and my lab have become best friends and are normally found together.
Because of his disability he MUST be muzzled when out in public. There are just too many things he is watching. Ex: Hand signals and people in general. He can be easily confused and frustrated with everyone moving especially if it is a busy place. He does have the tendency to bite or nip. Willy is still very uncomfortable with strangers. Even if they look at him he will growl. The muzzle is his and any human’s safe guard. So every time we go out he wears the muzzle even though he hates it. But precautions must be taken with him around others.
When on walks he loves to rub his face along the grass to release the muzzle, and even though we have been working on this, he still searches for spots. Our walks are quite long and sometimes frustrating as he still in not comfortable wearing the muzzle but it is a MUST.
When Willy came to me I was told he hated having his nails cut, but after a year he allowed me to do this. He will sometimes pulls away, but overall he sits and allows me to do his nails sometimes while laying on me. What a great surprise this is.
Driving in the car is a treat for him. He does however not like when people are moving around him and he will start to bark and growl at them.
Willy needs a home where the people are very patient and loving and even if possible someone home part of the day.
Willy has been moved about a lot so we are hoping on a perfect home for Willy to come forward and give him a lifetime of love and support. Thank you for your time.

All dogs adopted from LOYAL Rescue will receive 6 weeks of free pet insurance with AdoptSecure!
LOYAL Rescue is a foster based rescue with homes located throughout the province and in the United States. We do not operate a shelter, thus do not have viewing hours. Each pet is in a private home. In order to adopt this pet, please visit our website www.loyalrescue.com and fill in our online application. If you have any questions, please email us by clicking here.
Once you submit the online adoption application, we will arrange for a volunteer to contact you to conduct the telephone interview. The same volunteer will also contact your veterinarian and personal references. If the interview and references go well, a home visit will be booked. Should you be the successful applicant for this pet, you are then welcome to come and meet the dog. You are not obligated to adopt if the fit is not correct, however we must go through this process prior to you meeting the dog.
LOYAL Rescue is 100% volunteer run.
Please read the FAQ section of the LOYAL website, prior to applying to adopt from us.
| We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here. |

Rescue Group Info...
Although LOYAL Rescue has only been around since 2006, members of LOYAL Rescue have 40+ years of rescue involvement. Through our combined love and dedication to the dogs, we have come together to do what we can to save a life.
All adoptions REQUIRE an application to be filled out. There is an online application at www.loyalrescue.com. Once you complete the application, we will call you to answer any of your questions and confirm details before proceeding. We then call your vet for a reference, and call each of the three references you list on your application. If all goes well, we visit your home to confirm this is the best possible home for the dog you are applying to adopt. If you are approved, you then fill out a contract, pay an adoption fee (between $300-$400) and adopt the dog. ALL DOGS are up to date on shots, spayed/neutered (unless too old, unhealthy or too young to do), dewormed, defleaed and health checked before going to their new home.
We are located in Peterborough, Ontario and serve this area as well as the Kawartha's, across Ontario and even into the Norther States. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR PET THOUGH as we DO NOT SHIP.
