My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE--You can now meet Keanu in person at the Muncie PetSmart! Keanu is a wonderful cat and one lucky boy! His approximate date of birth is in March '07 and until the spring of 2010, we had never met. However, Keanu found himself in a lot of trouble. He is not telling us the exact details, but from what we can figure out, he tangled with a car and the car nearly won. Both of his front legs were badly injured. His right leg had a horrible laceration running the whole length of the leg and he had obvious deformation in his toes. The left leg itself was not in horrible condition but he had definite damage to that paw. X-rays revealed that neither leg was broken but he had several broken toes, affecting both front paws. After several weeks of bandage changes and medication, the laceration on the right leg has completely healed. Now that the hair has grown back, you can't even see a scar! However, his toes did not heal as well. In the end, 3 toes on his right paw had to be amputated. He was also completely declawed on that paw so that the other claws would not cause him a problem. His left paw faired better. After several weeks of being splinted, the toes on that paw healed and don't cause him any problems, so no toes needed to be amputated. All in all, he is doing great. He has healed quite well--hardly has even a limp anymore. Except for the left paw looking smaller than the right, it is difficult to tell that anything this horrible ever happened to him! He is a big boy, weighing nearly 13 pounds at the last weigh in. He is very sweet and playful, does great with other cats, and would adjust to gentle older children and dogs. He would do best in a fairly quiet household because chaos does scare him. He has been through so much and has done wonderfully. All he needs now is a family who will love him forever! Won't you let Keanu into your heart and home?
