Jersey's Story...
location: Floyds Knobs, IN

Jersey is a retired puppy mill dog; there is no telling how many babies she had in her lifetime. She is about 8 years old, and a very laid back, relaxed girl. Jersey is a real couch potato, and is very gentle. She is quiet, easy to get along with, and likes belly scratches and treats. Jersey likes men, women and children - and would probably like cats, too. The happiest times of the day for Jersey are laying in the afternoon sun... or near the wood stove on a chilly morning. She is housebroken, walks okay on a leash, and knows how to use a dog door. Jersey weighs about 20 pounds, and is a "teddy-type" Rattie, with short legs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jersey, a Carmel Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Carmel, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Carmel.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carmel already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carmel breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carmel paves the way for another one to be saved.
