Our gentle giant has had a hard life even though she is only 2 years old. Gracie is unsure of all new sounds and will flinch and/or flatten to the ground if she is scared by a noise or if a person moves in an unfamiliar way. She had many, many litters of puppies prior to us rescuing her and getting her spayed. She back was covered in scabs, she had little fur and even though she's a big gal, she only weighed in at 82 pounds.
After several weeks in foster care Gracie is gaining confidence and is not afraid of "normal things," she also uses the dog door without issue, walks great on a leash and doesn't chew on inappropriate items. While she is not cat safe she doesn't mind other dogs but doesn't really spend much time playing with them.
Like most giant breed dogs, Gracie is not super active. A leisurely walk around the neighborhood is just fine with her. She does like to snuggle and is happy to sneak into bed at night to nestle up next too you.
Gracie's ideal home would be a quiet one with a patient parent(s) that will continue to work with Gracie on gaining confidence and showing her that not all humans are bad. Daily walks and nightly snuggles would be an added bonus for our Princess Gracie!
Gracie weighed 82 pounds when we rescued her.
