Here's what the humans have to say about me:
5-3-10: Lucy is a pretty Labrador Retriever/Anatolian Shepherd mix and is three years old. She has a wonderfully expressive face that looks like she is smiling at you. Lucy loves daily walks and enjoys running and playtime. She has excellent manners and appears to be housebroken.
Lucy is very affectionate and loves being hugged and petted and will stand up on her back legs to be hugged! She does well with people of all ages and gets along well with other dogs. She wanted to chase the cats we introduced her to. Lucy did not try to hurt them - she just wanted to play.
Lucy is a bright dog who is eager to please and should do well with training. She has such wonderful potential to be a loyal and devoted family companion.
Lucy first came to the shelter when she was nine months old because her owners were leaving the country. She had been tied out in the yard the entire time they had her. Lucy was then adopted by an elderly man who also left her outside all the time, giving her no training and little attention. Lucy was picked up several times for running at large, after jumping the three foot fence in his yard. The officers believed she was lonely and trying to find someone to play with. Animal Control talked her owner into surrendering Lucy to the shelter. She was adopted a third time by a couple who did not have a fenced yard, but promised plenty of daily exercise, traning, and keeping Lucy indoors. After a short time, they decided they did not want to take the time to have a dog, so Lucy came back to Animal Control a third time. Soon after, she was fortunate to become a Lucky Pup!

As with many of our sweeties, Lucy is with our partner shelter in the south, but we plan on bringing her north toward the end of May.
