Serena's Story...
Hi Wonderful People.

My name is Serena and I’m a gorgeous Bichon girl of about six, with a sweet face and a beautiful coat. I was rescued from a bad situation and, as a result, I’m now livin' the good life and am incredibly happy to be here with my foster Dad. I think he’s just about the best thing that ever happened to me. He’s teaching me all kinds of things and I’m learning really fast! I'm working really hard to be the bestest bichon that I can be.

I have lots of foster doggy fur kids in my house and I love to play with them. Got dogs? because I just love other dogs, big and small. The other thing I love, besides Dad of course, is my chew bone, Dad says I always have it with me – and that I take it to my bed and sleep next to it so it can always be near. I have this cute way of looking at him and tilting my head to the side. Ha, it gets him every time.

Dad says I am sweet, mellow, affectionate, playful and just so darn cute! He says that I am one of the most beautiful bichons he has ever seen, gee thanks Dad! If I see him hold the leash, I know that means walk time (goody, goody) ‘cause I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my walks! Why I jump up and down to show Dad how excited I am. And after my last walk of the night, my favorite place to sleep is in my crate.. I kind of like to have it all to myself and Dad’s bed is so crowded with other furkids that I don’t mind at all.

When people come to the door, I do bark. If I like the people I stop my barking right away. If I don’t like them then I need to go into my crate so I can stop my barking. Dad’s working with me on that one thing. He says I’m so smart that I’m really getting it and making lots of progress. (And if you take the time to introduce me to people then I don’t bark at all.)

I would be happiest in a home with adults who wanted an adorable, loving and protective little girl friend for their other furkids. We could hang out, cuddle a little and I would keep my Forever Mom and dad laughing and smiling because if I say so myself, I am a very special girl. Wouldn't that just be perfect?

Hopefully waiting,

Sweet Serena

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Serena, a La Costa Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in La Costa, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in La Costa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Costa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Costa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in La Costa paves the way for another one to be saved.
