Tabitha's Story...
Tabitha was brought to a city shelter at the end of March when she was only 4 weeks old. Her mom was a pregnant stray who was taken in by a person who provided her with food and shelter. Soon after, she gave birth to Tabitha and her 4 siblings. There were too many kitties for the rescuer to handle so the kittens were all turned over to a local animal shelter in hopes that they would find a better life. Two weeks after their arrival, the kittens were fortunate enough to go into foster care. Their brother has already been adopted and now it’s time for Tabitha and her fun-loving & sweet sisters to find their own forever homes! In true sisterly fashion, one minute the girls are wrestling & play fighting and the next, they are best of friends and snuggled together for a kitty nap. Tabitha is the runt of the litter but what she lacks in size, she makes up for in personality and spirit. It’s quite amusing to watch little Tabitha pounce and take on her bigger sisters. Tabitha has even had her 15 minutes of fame! She was hand picked to participate in the Amazing Acro-Cats show at the Kansas City Pet Expo in April. Tabitha was quite the rock star and did a fantastic job. Turns out she is a natural born performer! There was even a picture and video clip of her performance posted on the KC Star website. Her foster mom says that Tabitha is one of the most affectionate kittens she’s ever fostered. Just get near her and you’ll immediately hear loud purring! Tabitha also loves to snuggle and gives lots of kisses! She will often climb and hang out on her foster mom’s shoulder like a little bird. Since kittens do better with a companion, her foster mom would love for Tabitha to be adopted with one of her sisters (Juliet, Lillie & Annabelle) or to a home that already has a kitty.

Tabitha was born approximately on 3.3.10, will be spayed prior to adoption, is FIV/Feline Leukemia negative, has received age appropriate vaccinations and will be microchipped. Her adoption fee is $100 (OR $160 for a pair).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tabitha, a Overland Park Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
