Here's what the humans have to say about me:
WE HAVE DONE A DNA TEST ON MYA!
The test results from 5/21/2010 indicate Mya is an American Staffordshire Terrier, Dachshund, Irish Setter, and West Highland White Terrier!
MYA IS MICROCHIPPED!
Mya came to us from a high kill shelter in Georgia. She was listed as a Pit Bull/Boston Terrier at this shelter, although she is actually neither of these after DNA testing. Upon intake, we found Mya to be Heartworm positive. We have placed Mya on a slow-kill treatment rather than a quick-kill treatment, which is far less invasive and dangerous, and the remainder of the slow-kill treatment will be provided to her future family when she is adopted. Mya is extremely people and animal friendly. She loves attention and will sit on your feet to get you to pet her. Mya is highly maternal, which makes her a great pet to have around children. She is a Beta, and is extremely non-aggressive. Mya is constantly around all sizes of dogs, from small 2 lb. puppies all the way up to large Rottweilers. She loves to snuggle by your feet, and is quick to give her paw for a chance to be pet.
What a perfect home would have: Mya's perfect home would be with people and pets she could constantly interact with. Mya is especially people orientated, therefore it would be great for her to be around people. Children of all ages are wonderful with Mya, as she is a maternal canine. A fenced in yard would be ideal so she could play whenever she wanted. She loves to be in the yard with other canines, as long as they are non-aggressive. She is then extremely content coming inside to snuggle and be with the family. Mya sits with her foster mom in the office while she does work, and she spends time with everyone while they watch television. She will quickly roll over for a belly rub, and lay her head on your knee to say hello. Mya is a friendly, fun, American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is looking for a loving and accepting home.
