Sierra's Story...
Sierra was at the Humane Society and she was scared. The employees knew she was a sweet little girl but she trembled in her kennel and hid her face. This didnt help "sell" her to potential adopters. People walked by her and looked at all the happy, yappy dogs. Only the employees knew that when you entered Sierra's kennel, she would sidle up for affection, her tail thumping the ground to show her appreciation.

So, instead of moving her to the euthanasia ward, a call for help went out to the rescue groups. We were happy to help.

Sierra is an inquisitive creature. When she rides in the car, she sits up straight, looking out the window with glee. Given her breed, we think she will be a water dog so if you have a pool, WATCH OUT! You just might have a furry bathing beauty join in the splashing.

As we learn more about Sierra we will add it here. She was just rescued and from what we can tell, Sierra is super smart, will respond well to training and while initially fearful of men, warms up once she knows you love her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sierra, a Scottsdale Australian Kelpie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Kelpie for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Australian Kelpie dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Kelpie breeders who help with Australian Kelpie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
