Roxie's Story...
Roxie (female)
Hi! My name is Roxie and I am a female, 4 month old black & white mixed breed dog. I am affectionate and sometimes shy. I would love an older dog to look up to. I am the runt and have been following my brother & sister's lead. I weigh about 20 pounds and am not housetrained because my foster mom could not keep me in the house. I have been staying on her covered porch and always go potty in the grass away from my den. I am not fixed because I am not old enough and and up-to-date on my shots. I have my very own rabies tag too! My vet says that I will be good with children because I am social and my foster mom has loved me so very much. I love her too but I understand that she can't keep me forever. I think I would like to hunt and fish but I mostly just want to be safe and loved.
If you would like to meet me, please call my foster mom, Jenny at 318-658-5062 or email her at for more of my story and more pictures. There is a screening process to adopt me and my adoption fee is $60.00, which will get you a voucher to get me spayed when I come of age!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxie, a Haughton Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
