Lucy's Story...
I'm a sweet little lady named Lucy and I want a warm lap and someone who won't be stingy with the treats- Even though I am senior I'l still get up and dance for a cookie! I came here with my son Henry but we are ready to find our separate ways, into loving homes of our own. I need a calm environment, somewhere without children. And I am gonna need some extra TLC, just cuz I deserve it! I do well in the house and know to go potty outside as long as get out enough. I am crate trained and I even know how to 'sit'. Do I sound like the perfect addition to your recliner or what? 9 years old-9lbs. My adoption fee is $100 and includes adoption supplies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Portland Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
