I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Greetings from Chicago English Bulldog Rescue (CEBR FOR SHORT). Don’t be fooled by our name, we cover a very large Midwest territory. Become a fan of Chicago English Bulldog Rescue on Facebook to learn more about our charitable work and get daily updates with our adoptable bullies! A HEART EVEN BIGGER THAN MY BELLY!
Hey there! My name is Spanky! I am a silly, seven-year old male English Bulldog with a big personality that matches my big size and big heart. I am 65 lbs of pure muscle. I have been vaccinated and neutered. Due to some changes in my family’s life, they weren’t able to spend as much time with me as they once did. They could see that I was sad and unhappy without them around, so they did what was best for me and contacted CEBR to find another loving home.
I don’t act like a seven year old. In fact, my foster mama says I act like a puppy! Sometimes I get a bit rambunctious, but my foster family knows it’s just my energetic nature so they make sure I get lots of attention and exercise. I also should mind my manners a bit, like I shouldn’t flex my pelvis like I do, but it’s nothing a quick mention of my name or squirt of water on my behind won’t stop! I also require daily eye meds and balm for my dry nose.
Overall, I have lots of great qualities. I make friends very easily. Currently, I am living with two other dogs and we get along great! I am also not aggressive, though that doesn’t mean I am not confident. I stand up for myself, but not in an aggressive manner. I have too much fun in life to worry about being mean.
I am also very playful and play with my foster family for hours. We play with all kinds of toys, but my favorite is when they chase me around the house, trying to get the toy from me. I also like to go for walks. I don’t tire easily. I have a lot of stamina for a bulldog! My foster mama wants me to tell you that I am sweet, too. She’d rather give my big face a kiss, but I like to present her with my back end and have her give me a good scratch! And did I say I was silly? Oh yes, I did. Well, I am. I like to make people laugh and at least twice a day do something that cracks my foster family up with laughter.
I have been a really good boy at my foster home. I am completely potty trained and understand many words, including “sit” and “drop it.” I have made sure my foster family gives me my eye drops daily as I don’t like bloodshot eyes. I am also a bit stubborn, so my new family may have to remind or encourage me to get a particular reaction!
I will fit best into an active family with someone around for most of the time. I like to be around people, even when I am sleeping. I like dogs and love kids (not sure about cats, but imagine I would find them very interesting). I might be too big for little kids as my playfulness might be too much for them! I like to sit on furniture, so need a family that won’t mind that or will help me learn to stay on my bed. I need a family that will play with me, love me and exercise me. I am very inquisitive, so would love a family that will let me explore. Do I sound like the perfect guy for you?
