Chance***'s Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Chance***'s Story...
Chance is a super kind pit, good with kids, other dogs, and so far seems fine with cats. He is a year and 2 months old, up to date on vaccines and is neutered and microchipped. For the past two weeks the owner has reported seizures mostly in the evening time, but didn't have the money to do anything about them and they are too much for them to handle so they gave him to animal control to be euthanized. He has had no previous health issues. We ran bloodwork and a thyroid screen on him today, both checked out perfect so the vet is diagnosing him with epilepsy. We are starting him on a low dose of phenobarbital to see if we can control his seizures that way. We are also going to try a hypoallergenic diet, because sometimes a food allergy can cause seizures. Updates to come soon on all of that. For now Chance needs a good loving home.

Sometimes with a seizuring dog they have to be away from other dogs or the others may attack him because he is weak at that moment, however an experienced owner may be ok having him with other dogs. He definitely needs to go to someone who is willing to take him back and forth to the vet for the rechecks and monitoring and is willing to spend some money on his meds probably forever. He needs a loving home that will keep him no matter what happens and take care of him for his whole life so he doesn't end up back on the row for euthanasia.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chance***, a Greensboro American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog for sale in Greensboro, or seeking a American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Greensboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greensboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greensboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greensboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
