My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrival story: Skippy was a stray picked up by a rural shelter. The shelter discovered Skippy had heartworms and could not afford to treat him so he was slated to be euthanized. Waggin Tails stepped and got him the treatment he needed. Skippy completed his heartworm treatment and has been neutered, so he is ready for his forever home!

Approximate age / weight: 1 year old and 47lbs.

Personality: Wow, this is a boy worth waiting for! Skippy is about as close to perfect as a dog can get, with his mellow temperament, playful nature, and affectionate side. He is an active dog who plays a lot with one of the resident dogs, but then settles down nicely. Skippy gets along wonderfully with all of the resident dogs and is fine with the resident cat. His foster mom says Skippy is about the easiest foster dog she's had in her home and would keep him if she didn't already have several of her own dogs.

Skippy is just adorable with soft, loving eyes, pretty brindle markings, and...look at those incredible ears! He's a dog you have to see in person. Try as we may, we can’t seem to capture his adorableness in pictures!

Skippy did great in his crate during his heartworm treatment (dogs have to stay calm during treatment), but he will not need to be crated in his forever home.

Forever home: Skippy will fit into many situations, but we know he will be happiest in a home with a big, physically fenced yard (no electric fences please) and another doggy pal to play with, so that is what we are seeking for Skippy.
