Sweetie's Info...

I am a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, and not good with kids.

Sweetie's Story...
Sweetie lives up to her name and is very sweet! She is an Moloccan Cockatoo who has half of her upper beak missing. We were told that she was placed into a breeding situation in which the male cockatoo broke half her upper beak. She has no problems eating but will need her beak adjusted every few months to help with the growth.

Sweetie is looking for loving, quiet home with few people and no children under 18. She does seem to prefer men over women. She is also scared with new people but with lots of time she will make an excellent companion. She may have been abused sometime her lifetime, so she will need extra gentle care and slow movements. Due to this, we ask only people who have had a cockatoo or large parrot to apply. Sweetie does come with her cage.

Please email us at for an adoption application and adoption fee. Our adoption procedure is located on our website under the adoption & fee info tab.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweetie, a Redlands Cockatoo was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatoo for sale in Redlands, or seeking a Cockatoo from a breeder in Redlands.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Redlands already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Redlands breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatoo breeders who help with Cockatoo rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Redlands paves the way for another one to be saved.
