Riley's Story...
Riley is a darling long haired chihuahua who was found locally as a stray dog and was rescued from impound. He is about 2-3 years old and weighs 6 pounds full grown. Riley is a happy, very well adjusted chihuahua who absolutely LOVES the cats in his foster home. He also likes to run and play with the small dogs and will need a home with adults or children older than 10 due to his tiny size. Riley enjoys having a fenced yard to run in though this isn't a requirement. He is quiet and does very little barking, so he might do well in a congregate housing situation. Riley is house trained and doesn't need to be crated. Riley is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. His $350 adoption fee is because he needed to be neutered, had a full dental, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, flea/tick prevention and HomeAgain microchip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Osseo Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Osseo, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Osseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Osseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Osseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Osseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
