My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Allie came to us from a shelter in California. She was shy and not leash trained, so was considered unadoptable. She has made huge progress with her new foster mom in just a week.
Allie walks nicely on a leash now and goes out with all the other dogs.
Allie is learning to accept treats from new people and is becoming familiar with all kinds of wonderful and interesting things in the big wide world.
Allie has an old leg injury that gives her a slight limp, but it doesn't slow her down. We'll have it x-rayed when she goes in to get spayed.

Notes from Foster Mom:

5/28 Little 8 lb Allie has adjusted well. She seems a brave little dog, plays with the other dogs, not afraid of the vacuum, learned to stay out of the front of the house quickly. She's been bathed and seemed a new experience but wasn't difficult about it. Has accepted treats from a couple of new people we've met when given a couple of minutes to think about it. I think she will adjust wonderfully to a companion home. Her right front leg is either deformed or has been badly broken and healed untreated, doesn't seem to bother her but causes her to limp as it's shorter. Doesn't hesitate to jump down from chairs, or table, adjusted quickly to leash and comes to new name already. I took her for a walk today with the other dogs and she ran into the shallow water, surprised her but didn't scare her. We went about a mile and she seemed fine with that distance but as she gets older much farther will probably become harder, not a horse dog though she wasn't afraid of them, I would just be afraid of her over doing very easily due to her odd conformation. She's a good traveler.

5/29 She is feisty, smart doesn't take any guff from anybody. Cautious in a natural way but has accepted attention from everyone so far she just has to think about it for awhile. Her leg took her on a two hour walk this a.m. with no side affects that I could detect. She didn't even seem tired. I'll talk to you about it when I see you. Her back legs seem to be getting stronger already not bowing out as often and looking more normal
