Nellie's Story...
Meet Nellie, she's an older girl, maybe 7-9 yrs old (?) and on the smaller side, maybe around 35lbs. She is a very sweet girl who is no trouble at all. She gets so excited when it's time to eat!! She is a little slow to lay down and get up, we think she may have arthritis in her rear knees. Nellie is getting a thorough check up this week. She has been vaccinated and is heartworm negative.

Won't you consider Nellie, the older dogs have so much to give and she's so loving!

Nellie is fostered in Oviedo. We'll be getting more pictures soon, these are of her in the shelter....she hates getting her picture taken!

Our adoption fee is $250.00 (over 10 yrs $125.00), this helps cover some of the dogs expenses. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date with vaccinations, heartworm tested and on preventative. You must be willing to travel to the dog to meet/adopt .

If interested in adopting, please complete our Adoption Application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nellie, a Orlando Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Orlando, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Orlando.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Orlando already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Orlando breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Orlando paves the way for another one to be saved.
