Mars's Story...
I’m a sweet treat named Mars. I was rescued from the county pound when my time was up and brought to FOHA for a second chance. Most of my life so far has been spent on a chain, which is no way to live. I’m happy to report that I am housetrained now though, and my days of being on the chain gang are over. I’m very smart and eager to please, and have a loving and sweet personality. I’m so happy to have friends that love me and to finally get the attention I deserve. Life on a chain was lonely and cold, but all that has changed now, and I know life will only get better. I hope my new family loves to play and would enjoy taking me to the dog park. I love car rides. I’m a wonderful boy who’d make a wonderful addition to your family. (PLEASE NOTE: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mars, a Aldie Flat-Coated Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
