Venus's Story...
Venus is a very beautiful, gentle, extremely calm and sweet, one-year-old, petite Calico/Tabby cat with magnificent markings looking for a loving home. Poor Venus was dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control. She was lucky to find a wonderful foster home so she wouldn’t need to live in a cage. She uses her litter box and scratching post like a good girl. She is also quite the feline athlete. Her foster mom says she can get to all the high places in her home that none of the other cats can reach. She also loves to play with her toys. She is extremely healthy, spayed, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, virus-tested, and micro-chipped. To meet and possibly adopt Venus, please e-mail their foster mom Kathy at kbwilson60612@yahoo.com Her adoption fee of $65 supports the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Venus, a Chicago Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
