Meeka & Georgia's Story...
Pair of Grey White Face Cockatiels
“MEEKA & GEORGIA”
Fostered by Dee Dee F of Tampa
**bonded, need to be adopted together, but in separate cages**

We are a pair of bonded 2 year old white face cockatiels. We love feeding time in the morning. Georgia then sings after mealtime for a short period.
Our foster mom puts us on a perch on the patio. We love the fresh outdoors. If we are inside we will climb on top of our cage and hang out. Sometimes we are allowed on the floor to walk around. When we are ready to go to our cage we use the ladder to get back in the cage.We are very quite at night when its time to sleep. Mom says" night night" and covers us. We stay quite until she uncovers us. We like to play with small bells and chew on toys made for birds. Georgia steps up good. Meeka will step up with patience. They both are improving daily on stepping up.

About Our Rescue Group...
Florida Parrot Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of companion parrots. We strive to educate parrot owners on proper handling and care of parrots. Should someone be unable to keep their bird(s) for ANY reason, we want them to know there is a place to turn, and that they are not alone. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for birds that cannot stay with their owners or birds in need, and then to find those birds permanent forever homes with loving and responsible families.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our rescues are located in homes through out the state. We will work with the fosters and potential adopters to set up dates and times.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Meeka & Georgia, a Tampa Cockatiel was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatiel for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Cockatiel from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatiel breeders who help with Cockatiel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
