Meet Taffeta. She was rescued from the So. L.A. Shelter the day before she was scheduled to be euthanized. She did not do anything wrong - just too many dogs in an overcrowded shelter system. Taffeta was one of the volunteer and shelters staff favorites and she passed all kinds of temperament tests at the shelter. Taffeta longs to have what she has never had - a human friend. She just wants a person to call her own. Taffeta also LOVES to play in a nice pack of dogs. She loves to pull back and forth the toys among the other dogs that are also joining in the play. She gets a ball or a toy in her mouth and runs all around, loving every minute that the other dogs will chase her. Taffeta also enjoys going on walks and she walks excellently on the leash without pulling. She is a smart girl and learned to walk without pulling in one day as well as to sit. Taffeta is not destructive to her things and she is not a barker. She is age one and about 50 or so pounds. Taffeta made a really nice friend the other day.....an eleven-year-old girl who would instruct her to sit and would throw the ball to her each and every time Taffata followed her instructions, and we found out what a great ball retriever she is and how friendly she is to children! Taffeta is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She also clicks very well with Lucky, another puppy at the rescue who is about 6 mo's old. If you wish to adopt two very friendly dogs these two are a great pair. Taffeta is a great dog for a first time dog owner, or first time pit owner. Aside from the occasional excitement she shows when first meeting someone or when she wants to be "loved," she is a pretty chill girl who is well crate-trained if there's a need to crate her to get other things done, though she also chills out very well in the house with no real need to be crated. Taffeta is a dog that you can easily walk without her reacting to all kinds of things like other dogs, sounds, cars, and such.
