JOSEY's Story...
ay 27 Beautiful Josey is back and again in need of a home. Loving, cuddly Josey. Josey is a 5-6 year old female German Shorthaired Pointer. Originally, over a year ago a fellow "rescuer" observed Josie chained up outside 24 / 7.. Her then "owner" wanted a hunting dog and Josey wouldn't hunt including being afraid of gun shot noise. "Owner" left her outside with a doghouse. Eventually "owner" surrendered Josie to the fellow rescuer who worked with Josey. Josey is now an inside housebroken family dog. She's wonderful with children of all ages. Josey needs an Active permanent home where people will include her & not expect her to live alone. Children and other dogs would be ideal!! Typical of the breed, Josey is friendly, generally staying near to people. 5/26/10 = Here's the reason she lost her most recent home : .... "It makes us very sad, because she has made such great progress. But over the last month her behavior when it comes to food has become worse. Even when we have everything put up, she has been jumping on our counters to try and open cabinets to get food out. We are in the middle of renovations for our kitchen and I really can't have her destroying it over her obsession for food. Were pretty frustrated over it. Besides the food issue and the occasional running off, she's been doing very well. I would like to try and have you pick her up while my sons at school" ...........Secure fenced yard needed. Liver and white easy care short coat....definitely not high maintenance grooming. Weight 55 pounds, spayed, vaccines up to date, heartworm negative & on monthly prevention. Email for application. MORE DETAILED INFO CAN BE SUPPLIED, questions answered.. Adoption fee $140. JOSEY is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered

Why Adoption is a Great Option

JOSEY, a Toledo German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Toledo, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Toledo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toledo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toledo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toledo paves the way for another one to be saved.
