Chili's Story...
Chili is an adorable little pup who seems not to have had much socialization before arriving at our shelter. She is quite shy, and will do a little big-dog-although-she-is-a-little-dog display upon having a volunteer enter her kennel. But sit with her for a while, and she will gradually warm up to you and plop herself right down on your lap, as though she is relieved that she can finally trust someone. With her adorable ears that pop up when she takes her tough girl stance, and her unusual, but stunning olive-blue colored coat, Chili is quite a beautiful little pup. She would probably do best in a home with another dog, who will help to give her the confidence and sense of security that she is lacking at the moment. Come meet this little munchkin with grown-up dog attitude that melts away with a good dose of tenderness and love.

Act quickly to adopt Chili. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chili, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
