Lara's Story...
At 3 months, Lara is one of the youngest residents at Ken-Mar Rescue. Put on “Death Row” because of over-capacity at the shelter, Lara was rescued and has since been staying with a foster parent who is teaching her to be housebroken. Lara is all pup and is a great candidate for training. Like her breed, Lara is intelligent, agile, loyal, self-confident, protective of her home and property. She is fearless, but not hostile. Lara is active, quick to learn and fond of training and challenges. Lara loves life and comes back after every walk eager to share her “discoveries” with all the other dogs. Lara has remarkable athleticism, grace and a sense of humor. She is eager to share her attributes with that special family that will embrace her as their own, in a “fur-ever” home.

ABOUT THE BREED: German Shepherds should be socialized at an early age and trained after 7 months of age. They are very sociable and need attention. The German Shepherd does well in apartment living provided they are mature, trained, and have plenty of exercise. German Shepherd pups require a more open environment for proper development. The German Shepherd Dog is of middle size, strong, well muscled and elegant looking.

BREED: German Shepherd mix, spayed female, 3 months, 18 lbs, Tan, Brown & Black Short Hair

NAUGHTIEST DEED: Housebroken, but, being a pup, have a little accident every now and then, but I’m learning!

FAVORITE FOOD: Meat and Chicken

FAVORITE PASTIME: Walks, walks and more walks!

KNOWN ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Remaining optimistic that her “fur-ever family” is on their way to get her, despite the fact that she is the rescue’s youngest resident.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lara, a Los Angeles German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler puppy from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
