McKenzie's Story...
Unique composition in this guy. Some terrier for sure, little lab, and a smidge of airedale? Did not meet his Mom or Dad, so who knows. McKenzie, who is 6 months old, will probably be a large dog if not a medium to large.

He was on his own for quite awhile and during that time understandably became afraid of humans. He loves his foster mom but quick movements or moving towards him can cause him fear. He is young and with love would overcome this if an owner understands he can't help his instinct to turn away because of fear caused by humans, cars, the unknown, and no one to let him know it is okay.

McKenzie will be very loyal and tends to have a quiet nature. Not been around kids yet and his shyness would be okay with a child that could offer tenderness and understanding.

If you would like to learn more about this special dog, please feel free to email his foster mom Geane at or call her at 903-258-3014.

CLAW's adoption donation for a dog is $100.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

McKenzie, a Canton Scottie, Scottish Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Scottie, Scottish Terrier for sale in Canton, or seeking a Scottie, Scottish Terrier dog from a breeder in Canton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Canton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Canton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Scottie, Scottish Terrier breeders who help with Scottie, Scottish Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Canton paves the way for another one to be saved.
