Roxy's Story...
Roxy is a mature well-behaved girl, full of affection and gentleness. On her walks, she is not boisterous, but rather, she quietly takes in all that goes on around her. She is casual about the attentions of other dogs, perhaps taking a moment to see what all the fuss is about, and then moving on. Roxy is reserved in the shelter, seldom barking or aggressively asserting herself in search of attention. But one look into her eyes sets her tail rapidly in motion, indicating that a human connection is indeed very important to her. This older girl loves treats as well, and will graciously take them very gingerly from your hand. Roxy will make a faithful companion to someone who demonstrates a genuine love and caring, which she will unfailingly recognize and return in kind.

Act quickly to adopt Roxy. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxy, a Berkeley Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
