My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are looking for a foster home or an adoptive home for Bella. Bella is a family member to Gracie. The story is this: Her current foster mom went to the shelter to gather a few labs we agreed to take. Upon entering the shelter, she noticed a whole bunch of German Short Hair Pointer s and inquired as to why they were at the shelter. Apparently the owner passed away and they were brought to this shelter. Prior to coming to the shelter, it is believed that they were used for hunting dogs and were kept in outdoor kennels with very little socialization to other humans or new surroundings. There were 9 all together, just beautiful, beautiful dogs. The shelter worker stated that the German Short Hair Pointer rescue was coming in to look at them, but also stated that they would not take all of them. Bella's current foster mom asked to be kept updated on who goes to rescue and who still needs help. Also, there was a terrified little girl in the corner of the kennel, shaking, had not eaten in a week, and would not even look their way. It was made clear that she would not be rescued by the GSP rescue, they would not take a girl that needed that much help. That little girls name is Sophia (who many are already familiar with on facebook), who the foster mom snatched her up and whisked away from her terrible situation. Sophia is now in a great foster home and making so much progress getting to know her new human friends. However, Bella and the others were left behind in hopes that the GSP rescue would take several. The following weeks went by and the foster mom contacted the shelter to find out who was rescued and who was left. Unfortunately the GSP rescue never showed up and the GSP's were getting sick. They were all under socialized and not thriving in the shelter. 6 were euthanized. Saddened, horrified and shocked by the news, with many questions as to why she was not contacted regarding, it became clear that this was not important anymore and there were two that needed help desperately(Gracie, already posted and doing well, and Bella). Dropping everything, she zoomed to the shelter and took both Bella and Gracie and brought them to her already packed house. The foster mom already has Sophia, the girl rescued a few weeks prior, who is beginning to thrive, now Bella needs a foster home. Though she is being well cared for, Bella is shy and not socialized to a lot of sounds and environments. She is far better off then Sophia, but still needs help to build her confidence. She is about 2 years old, sweet, quiet, and wonderful. We are looking for a family who can spend some one on one time with Bella to help bring her out of her shyness and really help her to become the great GSP that we know she is. Her new foster family or permanent family will need to be patient, work with her daily, and keep the chaos to a minimum, especially in the begininng. If you think you may be interested in helping Bella out, please email luckylabs@luckylabrescue.com or fill out an adoption application and request her on the notes section.
