Here's what the humans have to say about me:
“Well this may be my final farewell. I don't have a real name but have been told I'm an "Angel." I know that most people will be turned off by my graying muzzle and world worn eyes, but I have spent my life loving unconditionally. Even today, I look back and am thankful to all the people who have paid me a kindness. They call me a senior and my days will come to an even earlier end when there is no longer room in the shelter. In a few days, I will be headed for the “Rainbow Bridge” because I have heard people murmur about how wonderful I am and it will be a shame to have to let me go…I know I am going to die to make room for another, probably younger dog.
If only someone could see the wisdom in these old eyes and the smile in my heart! I still have the heart of a puppy, it just beats a little slower and I don’t have the urge to pull all over the place on a walk any more. I love to walk with someone and just share the moments. My forever isn’t as long as it use to be, but I would be happy to give it all to you, if you’ll have me...”
You can be her hero and provide her with the BEST YEARS of her life -- but it's so important to act NOW, as this dog may be on borrowed time. Your best (and fastest) option is to contact the shelter directly:
Stark County Dog Warden Department
Canton, OH
330-451-2343
eigibson@co.stark.o.us
Calling is always preferable to emailing, as shelters are often understaffed and time is virtually ALWAYS of the essence! A phone call to the shelter can make a life or death difference! You can also contact Northern Lights Sled Dog Rescue at katylied2@aol.com for a direct link to this dog's primary listing.
