Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Well, hello everyone. It has been a while since I first told you about myself. A great deal has happened since then. First of all, the doctor my foster mom takes me to found that I had very bad ear infections and that I would probably need surgery but, she also found out that I had tick fever. I couldn’t have any surgery until this was cleared up. So my ears hurt and smelled funny and I was treated for tic fever all through the holidays. Finally, on January 3, I went and saw my doctor and she told us my “tic fever” was all gone. I thought that this was great news.
But my Foster mom and the doctor played a mean trick on me, I went for surgery all right, the doctor cleaned my teeth and removed 12, count them, 12 cysts, moles and warts. I looked like Frankenstein’s Bride. My beautiful coat is just now growing back. The doctor did a biopsy on my mole just to be sure it wasn’t cancer. Now I get to go have more surgery on my ears. I am hoping that with this surgery I will be free from infection and ear pain. Then I will be ready to find my Forever Family. I am already deaf, but the surgery will make me feel much better.
I am very good at using the “doggie door.” I love to be held and cuddled. Look for me to be available to adopt in a few short weeks, after my ears heal from the surgery. The doctor has also determined that I have skin allergies. These allergies are what actually lead to my ears having the chronic infections and ultimately me being deaf and needing the ear surgery. I will need lots of baths and some medication to help this stay under control. My Foster mom keeps me in a size 3T t-shirt to help prevent those nasty pollens and allergens from sticking to my tummy. Everyone says I look adorable in my t-shirt.
Even with all of these medical things that I have been through my Foster Family L O V E S ME!! They laugh because they say I talk like “Chewbacca from Star Wars,” whoever that is. I talk for my supper and for attention. Since I am deaf I do not bark very much unless my Foster Brother and Sisters are barking and I see them. Then I can Basset Bay with the best of them. I get along great with kids and cats. BUT, I love my Foster Mom. She is home all day most of the time. I follow her around and sleep wherever she is (Often under the table in the study while she does things for AZBHR).
