Roxy's Story...

Roxy needs a foster home!

When our intake directors walked past this little girl's cage at Animal Care and Control, she was bouncing straight up and down trying to get our attention! Her vivacity and obvious intelligence drew us to her, and after some playtime/basic temperament testing outside we decided to admit her to NLOL.

Roxy is a high-energy little gal! She loves to jump and play, but is surprisingly mellow in her crate. She is gifted with the ability to entertain herself - whether it's with a toy or her own tail! Roxy would be a great agility or flyball candidate once she goes through some basic training.

We're not sure of Roxy's breed mix, but she appears to be at least part smooth-coat Border Collie. Her good looks and street smarts would back that up very well! We'll update Roxy's profile as we get to know her better, but for now contact us to foster or adopt this sweetie!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxy, a Chicago Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
