Yam's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with cats.

Yam's Story...
Yam is a sweet, playful, and fun eight-week-old, orange tabby kitten looking for a loving home. When a woman was evicted from her apartment, she left 19 cats behind … Yam was one of them. He deserves to find a home with fewer cats and a loving family to care for him. Yam LOVES other cats and loves to play and snuggle with them. Yam is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, virus-tested, and de-wormed. His adoption fee of $65 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control Rescue Group. To meet and possibly adopt Yam, please contact her foster mom Charlie at cpropsom@sbcglobal.net or 312-203-7950.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Yam, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
