Sophie's Story...
"Sophie" is a darling lab mix who will be a great addition to a loving family home. She likes other dogs and is playful and fun to be around. She will do well with older kids, since she's an energetic youngster. She's smart, too....she already knows Sit and Stay. She's been an indoor pet whose owner had medical issues and had to relinquish her. She's a great size, not too big and not too small.....jussst right! She loves to play catch and fetch with her toys. Her Dog Walker says: "Sophie is young, about 8 months old. Even for this young age, she shows a lot of common sense and maturity. She did not jump up on me at any time during our walk. Sophie was inquisitive during the walk, noticing her surroundings but continuing our pace nicely. She is gentle to handle and likes attention." Come on in and ask to visit with her in our Doggie Play Yard. Kennel #63.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a El Cajon Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
