Thunder's Story...
At the tender age of one, Thunder, an Akita-Siberian mix,
was taken from his home by Animal Control when the officers
were alerted to his condition. Skinny and dirty, he was
taken to the SPCA and neglect charges were brought against
his owner. Because of this, he was required to stay at the
SPCA for several months until his owner's case was resolved.
Through it all, the shelter staff were impressed with his
sweet personality and contacted several rescues about him.
He passed our evaluation with flying colors and is currently
settling in to his foster home and learning to be a model
doggie citizen. Thunder is a big, rambunctious boy who will
need a firm hand to guide him, as well as a 6 foot fence to
keep him safe.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thunder, a Boyertown Siberian Husky/Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siberian Husky/Akita for sale in Boyertown, or seeking a Siberian Husky/Akita dog from a breeder in Boyertown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boyertown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boyertown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siberian Husky/Akita breeders who help with Siberian Husky/Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boyertown paves the way for another one to be saved.
