Sandy's Story...
Sandy and her puppies were being neglected in a rough neighborhood, 4 of her pups died of worms, parvo, etc for living in filthy conditions, no vet care at all an no adequate food and water. She was rescue with two puppies but one could not be saved.

Sandy is a lab/coonhound/terrier/st bernard mix, approx 3 1/2 yrs old and weighs around 65lbs. She is house trained and crate trained. She gets along well with other dogs, she is very friendly to people as well. She is playful but at the same time laid back and loves quiet times and to have her belly rubbed. She has already been spayed, is current on vaccinations, and has been on flea and heartworm preventative. There is an adoption application to fill out and the adoption fee is $125 and covers her entire vet expenses until she goes to her forever home.. All her vet records will be provided.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Houston Labrador Retriever/Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Coonhound for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Coonhound dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Coonhound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
