Floyd's Story...
We have recently agreed to help a non-profit organization out with some dogs in their care. This org does educational work and helps out owners in crisis. They end up with dogs in their care from time to time and do not have the resources to effectively find them homes. These dogs are not with us at the moment but on our wait list to come to Barlee's - we are accepting applications for them and will place them straight into foster care, or foster-to-adopt since there has been assessment of most of the dogs. FLOYD is one of these dogs, and our contact describes him below:

"Another semi senior, Floyd is five year old black lab. Black dogs are a dime a dozen here in the south and always the last to be adopted. Owner passed away and the family didn't want him. My fabulous vet has had him for a bit. HE is a well behaved boy and very loving. Floyd is looking for a nice relaxed lifestyle with humans who will spoil him rotten, just because they can. Floyd is completely vetted and on heartworm and flea an tick prevention. I do not know his relationship with cats, nor his feeling on barking. However, when I visit him his butt is a waggin !! Guessing about 60 pounds, give or take a bit. Thanks.."

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE UPDATE OUR SITE AS OFTEN AS WE CAN. INFORMATION IS POSTED AS IT COMES TO US. IF THIS DOG IS LISTED, IT IS AVAILABLE, THOUGH WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS AND ANY DOG'S STATUS CAN CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Floyd, a Guelph Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Guelph, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Guelph.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Guelph already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Guelph breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Guelph paves the way for another one to be saved.
