Belle's Story...
Single Black Female seeking Companionship! Don't get me wrong - my foster family is great. I love them, I love their dogs, I don't mind the cat, and have even met a horse or two. They are very nice letting me hang out here, and my foster Mom is so full of compliments, that I just have to BRAG! (Hope you don't mind). Here's what she has to say: Belle is a VERY VERY nice dog. Easy going, very personable and tolerates my dogs like she has been around them forever. [I'd only been there one day!]. She takes turns with who she lays next to. She loves everyone but will also go off around the chair or under the table to hang out. She does not have to be next to you ALL the time... While she does have grey around her muzzle there is nothing else about her that states her age. She moves up and down stairs with ease, and she has a bit of fun left in her. Belle is very excited and happy with wiggles galore when you are walking toward her and talking to her, but if asked to sit she will, and wait for you to finish coming to her. Sometimes she will let out a low woof in anticipation....she is just a happy gal, but is by no means rowdy. Belle has great manners. If you tell her no or use the "aht aht" noise she stops whatever it was that she is doing. She walks nicely on a leash. She takes treats from your hand politely....but would love for your hand to never become empty! Belle is very good around the house. She does not get up on the furniture (not that that is a problem here...but someone will appreciate it!) She has not had a single accident in the house or her crate (yes she goes into a crate), and asks to go outside to potty. So far I have not found a thing wrong with her..... I don't understand why she is in my house.. She is such a sweet dog! But the best news is...she could care less about cats! So....yes.....a VERY good dog!!! So how's that I am a great dog, can we agree? I must confess, I do have one flaw. I love to run! (If you can call that a flaw) But if you either have a fenced yard for me, or willing to work with me on learning to recall (something I heard the people talking about), I promise to love you unconditionally. Thanks, and hope to meet you soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Belle, a Grant Park Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Grant Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Grant Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grant Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grant Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grant Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
