My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Butch! He may have a tough name, but this little boy is a teddy bear! Butch is around 9 pounds and about 8 years old. He came from a North Carolina kill shelter, where he was dumped by a family member after his owner had a stroke. Butch is a sweet dog and would make a perfect companion for someone who's looking for a lap dog. He is not leash trained but is crate trained, and although he does get along with other dogs (most of the time he just ignores them), he would probably do best as an only dog because he bonds very closely with his human, but sometimes shows jealousy towards other dogs. Butchy will need a fenced in yard, as he really fights walking on a leash or being on a lead. Butchy's fostermom is not sure how he would be with younger kids (as he has growled at them) & cats, but he doesn't have a very strong prey drive. If you're looking for a little lap dog, Butch is the pup for you!
