My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chester is a 4 year old neutered red/white purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He is current on his shots and is housetrained. He needs an adult only home where he is the only dog and with someone who REALLY knows the Corgi breed and is very dog savvy. He has a willful nature and will test people to get his way and if he isn't made aware that he's not the one to call the shots, he will rule the roost and be less then a good canine citizen. He needs positive reinforcement but firm training to learn his rank in the family pack. He is an owner surrender due to not being predictable on 3 occasions with their 11 year old daughter even though they've had him since she was 7 years old. Rather then jeopardize anyone's safety as he also appears to be jealous with another dog that came later, it is better to find a new home that will meet his needs and salvage a good dog with some "baggage" and "mixed signals" at this point. Placement is limited to Southern CA. Chester is a striking dog with good breeding but has an attitude. You can go to www.hugadog.com/sacr to complete an application on line. Chester will remain with his owners until the right environment can be found. This is not a dog for the first time dog owner or anyone with children or visiting grandchildren. Adoption process includes homecheck, trial period, followup visit and adoption donation.
