Rusty's Story...
S.O.S.
We have not much time to find RUSTY a temporary "foster" home who would be willing to take him to training to help prepare him for adoption. Expenses would be paid. Rusty is actually a "huge" puppy, extremely affectionate and friendly, has passed 2 evaluations with no dog, cat, food or even toy aggression. His favorite activities are tummy rubs, going to "Starbucks" to socialize with his human friends, and running loose in a dog park. He is strong, can be an escape artist and isn't yet house broken so needs basic obedience training and a VERY secure yard. Rusty's owner was having medical problems and was no longer able to properly care for him. He has been at the Benicia-Vallejo Humane Society for a couple of months and is showing signs of stress from confinement. Please help us save this dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Berkeley Mastiff/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Mastiff/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Mastiff/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
