Rider's Story...
Low Rider is a black, tan and white heeler and basset mix boy. He is approximately 9 months old and weighs 40 pounds. He was found by his foster mommy along with his mom and siblings. She heard all this commotion and went out to investigate and coyotes were attacking the poor mama dog and her pups. Foster mommy Pris leapt in to action and saved this little family. Since then she has been caring for this brood. So we want to find a great home for this little survivor. What a guy - he's a sweetheart who can resist that face! He's so loving and affectionate and always wears a smile on his cute little face. He has short stubby little legs that carry his robust basset shaped body around. He loves to get out and run with his brother and sister and all the other dogs at his foster home. Of course with short legs he thinks he moving 90 miles an hour but he's not getting anywhere very fast. He has a twin brother named Chubby and a sister named Prissy; both are also available for adoption. Low Rider's extremely intelligent and learns fast. He's crate trained and will use a puppy potty (plastic swimming pool with shavings in it). He'd make anyone a great companion and is looking for a forever home. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. So if you are looking for a lifelong buddy, please consider this adorable pup.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rider, a New York Basset Hound/Blue Heeler puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Blue Heeler for sale in New York, or seeking a Basset Hound/Blue Heeler puppy from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Blue Heeler breeders who help with Basset Hound/Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
