Cocoa's Story...
Cocoa is a very sweet and extremely mellow girl. She is very gentle and let me bathe and brush her without any problem. She has a beautifully soft brown coat. She is completely house-trained, does well in a crate, but has not needed it since she has been here. She loves all people, and adores playing with our 20 month old. She seems to have a motherly-type instinct to her, she always is aware of what our little girl is doing, and helps her in any way she can. You could just look into her eyes when meeting her for the first time and be able to quickly tell how truly gentle and sweet her personality is. Cocoa would be a great dog for any family, as she is very tolerant and loving of children of all ages. She loves any type of attention and especially loves "down time" where she can sit next to us on the couch, with a paw in my lap and be petted until bed time. She is very eager to please and is mastering all her commands at a very rapid rate. She would make any person or family happy as she truly is such a gentle, warm soul. Cocoa would probably prefer to be the only dog in your house, as she prefers to not share the attention from us with her foster sister/dog Zoey. She is not at all aggressive, just prefers that she be the only love/dog in your life. She walks very well on a leash, has never pulled and thoroughly enjoys her daily walks. She would do well with anyone; an older couple or person, a family with kids, even younger couples or people. She would be truly grateful for anyone to give her a special place to call her home forever.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cocoa, a Avon Boykin Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boykin Spaniel for sale in Avon, or seeking a Boykin Spaniel dog from a breeder in Avon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Avon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Avon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boykin Spaniel breeders who help with Boykin Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Avon paves the way for another one to be saved.
