Crockett's Story...
Howdy, I'm Crockett a 5 year old Irish Wolfhound (sure I am probably a mix but who cares!) We are an interesting looking breed, quite endearing I think. Patient, loyal and very intelligent I am just a gentle giant waiting for my chance at a new life. I do well with other dogs and I am great with children. I will make a wonderful addition to any laid back sort of family. I am crate trained, I ride well in the car and walk nicely on leash. I have only been an outside dog but I could learn to be inside and part of the family too. Please take the time to come in and meet me, I will be your perfect family member. 5 years old- 130lbs. My adoption fee is $150 and includes adoption supplies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Crockett, a Portland Irish Wolfhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Irish Wolfhound for sale in Portland, or seeking a Irish Wolfhound dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Irish Wolfhound breeders who help with Irish Wolfhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
