Bruce's Story...
My name is Bruce and I'm one handsome young dog. My foster mom says I remind her of Horton in "Horton Hears A Who" - I kinda' gulump around and do cute puppy dances. I know I can be kinda' clumsy sometimes, too, but I'm a real marshmallow. For some reason, maybe since I'm kinda' big, I'm kinda' shy, but I love to be held and petted. I'm too big to sit on most people's laps, but if you kneel down and cuddle me, or rub me all over, I just love it! I've got a sweet, gentle personality, but it takes me awhile to get to know people. Once I get to know you, I'm a big cuddly bear. My foster mom says I need a loving family. I get very attached and I'd be good with kids if they're part of my family, but I'd need time to get to know everyone. I'm just quiet and gentle. I'm crate trained and I'm house trained. I'm REALLY good about going outside. A yard would be nice and someone who will give me lots of attention would be perfect. If you'd like to meet me, please call my foster mom, Cathy, at (619) 822-1577 or email her at Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bruce, a Chula Vista St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever for sale in Chula Vista, or seeking a St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Chula Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chula Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chula Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chula Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
