Whitley's Story...
Meet Whitley of the Sprinkler babies. Four tiny kittens were found in a drain pipe by a man who installs sprinkler systems. He was kind enough to foster them for the 10-day quarantine period, so we named the babies after him and his family members.

Her current foster family describes her as follows: Whitley is quiet, loving, and seems like her brother Ferguson’s side-kick. We call her the King’s Council and him the King because she is wise and quiet… unless she has something to tell you (such as “I really would like that kitten food you are getting ready for me”). Whitley is a bit of an attention hog, so she needs a family who can really spoil her rotten and bestow all the praise on her that she would like to receive.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Whitley, a Alexandria American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Alexandria, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Alexandria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alexandria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alexandria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alexandria paves the way for another one to be saved.
