My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DI DI is an adorable, three year old BEAGLE/BORDER COLLIE MIX. The first thing you will notice when you see DiDi is what a beautiful pup she is. Her coat is cuddle soft, a combination of two gorgeous colors, a glistening glacier white and "high gloss" black. She has adorable little spots throughout her coat which looks like she was sprinkled with salt and pepper. Her eyes will truly make you melt, they are a warm rich cognac color with a true "Love Me" expression, in our opinion impossible not to. She has an extremely sweet, and gentle disposition and truly enjoys being with people and other dogs. She loves affection and is loving with everyone she meets. She is quick to bond and her true happiness is being with the most important person in the world to her , you!!!!! She is the ultimate "companion" pup. When she comes into her home she continues to shine. She is crate trained, housetrained and knows her basic obedience. After spending time with Di Di we feel she would do best in a home with a medium activity level as she is still young and would enjoy going on walks as she would be a great walking buddy and walks beautifully on lead. She is a fairly quiet dog but will bark to let you know that someone is at the door.(she thinks that's part of her job) DiDi loves other dogs and would enjoy having a companion best friend in her life. She has been fine with cats as well but will chase them in a playful manner. If you decide to make Di Di a part of your life you will be rewarded with tail wags, warm kisses and a pup who everytime she looks at you has a look on her face that seems to say "I LOVE YOU" she does!!!! *****8-14-2010 UPDATE FROM DI DI'S FOSTER MOM

She is doing FANTASTIC and is a real charmer!! She is affectionate, sweet, friendly, gentle and smart as a whip.
I think she would do wonderfully with a moderate energy level home - with another dog (or not), with older kids (or no kids) she would fit in almost any living arrangement, she is also good with cats.
Didi has so much love to give and soaks up one on one attention, impressing everyone we meet. Each person says "what a GOOD dog - so friendly and well-behaved and CUTE!!, etc, etc" Di Di loves walks and is easy to handle, with just a little more training would heel nicely. She will follow me from room to room and sit near me when I am working or hang out in her crate ( right now she is lying on my feet under the kitchen table). She likes other dogs (a bit timid at first but warms up in just a few minutes) is good with my cat. Di Di loves to cuddle up and is very responsive to attention, especially belly rugs - she will crawl into your lap if you let her. She rides well in the car. Not only is DiDi housetrained and crate trained, she knows SIT, DOWN, WAIT and is learning the "OFF" command - we are working on recall. She picks up things quickly and would learn tricks easily, she is extremely smart!!!!. She loves soft toys and bones. The biggest thing I've been trying to explain to people is that she is MUCH cuter than her photos(new photos coming soon) - they make her look much larger than she is and her face is much prettier than it appears. I'm not sure exactly what mix she is, but her face, cute ears, smile and build remind me a little of a beagle and she might have a bit of border collie in there too. But she does not bay or bark a lot like most beagles. Has fun sniffing on walks but doesn't seem to have a hunting instinct - more just a curiousity about things. She is a tolal joy to foster!!!!! DI DI is being fostered in MA.
